George Woollard shows his latest at art center
Hawaii artist and instructor George Woollard presents a solo exhibit of his latest paintings, monoprints and sculpture at the Academy Art Center through May 31.
A longtime art educator in Honolulu, Woollard has taught at the University of Hawaii, Chaminade University, Windward Community College, Kapiolani Community College and the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
His works are included in various public and private collections, including those of the academy, the Contemporary Museum, the Hawaii State Foundation of Culture and the Arts, UH, Exxon Corp. and the The Biblioteque Nationale in Paris.

Brasserie wine dinner tomorrow
A wine dinner will be held at Brasserie du Vin at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow night. Chef Scott Nelson will present shirred egg with salad of frisee, Maytag blue cheese, pecans and house-cured salmon gravlox; grilled andouille sausage with creamy lentils and fried egg; and blueberry and goat's cheese soufflé. Each course is paired with wine. Cost is $60 per person. Reservations are required. Call Radha Dasa at 384-7709.
Nobu adds flair via Peru May 28
Nobu Waikiki, Honolulu's most anticipated new restaurant, at the Waikiki Parc Hotel, is now accepting reservations.
The Japanese restaurant, famous in New York and Los Angeles for its unique "new style" cuisine with a Peruvian flair and strong celebrity following, will start serving dinner from 6 to 11 p.m. May 28.
Valet parking will be available at the Parc's porte-cochere. Call 237-6999.
3660 to serve up 'Chef's Table' fare
Chef Russell Siu will be offering a "Chef's Table Dinner" at 6:30 p.m. May 30 at 3660 on the Rise.
The menu: Hamachi Tataki with Mizuna Salad, Vine-Ripened Tomato with Dungeness Crab Meat Salad, Stuffed Breast of Duck with Foie Gras and Duck Mousse, Pan-Seared Tenderloin of Beef and Crepe Soufflé over Fresh Berries.
Cost is $75; bring your own wine or order from the wine list for a 40 percent discount for bottles. The restaurant is at 3660 Waialae Ave. in Kaimuki. Call 737-1177.
Compadres offers keiki meal special
Compadres Bar & Grill is launching a new set of promotions to entice diners. On Sundays, kids under 12 eat free with the purchase of any adult entree.
Mondays feature Margarita Madness, starting at $1 per drink and $10 for a pitcher from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday Taco Fandango offers $1 tacos and special prices on margaritas. Steinlager Quesadilla Thursdays run from 4 to 7 p.m. with $1 quesadillas, $5 Steinlager pitchers and live entertainment. Listen to music on Fridays as well while sipping $3 Corona beer bottles.
