Patton released by Raiders
Former University of Hawaii defensive back Kenny Patton was released by the Oakland Raiders yesterday as the NFL team tries to reduce its roster from 90 players to 80. Despite the setback for the free-agent signee, Patton remains confident he still has an opportunity to play professional football.
"My agent's working on it, but it's hard at this point because teams are downsizing," Patton said last night. "Hopefully, I'll end up somewhere. I'll play anywhere, but after my experience with the Raiders, I know I can play at the NFL level. They told me it's just a numbers thing."
Bolla brings in 4 more recruits
Hawaii Rainbow Wahine basketball coach Jim Bolla announced the signing of four players to increase the 2007 recruiting class to six.
The latest signees are junior college players Jamie Hawkins and Ebony Jones, freshman Natasha Davis and transfer Allie Patterson. They join two incoming freshman, Honokaa's Keisha Kanekoa and Katie Wilson from St. Catharines, Ontario, who signed during the early period last November.
