We'll Remember You
A collection of remembrances of Hawaii's Don Ho have been compiled into a commemorative section to be distributed in Friday's Star-Bulletin, the day before his services on Waikiki Beach. Many readers shared their thoughts on the entertainer:
I was born in 1961 and lived at the top of Haiku Road in Kaneohe. I remember always driving down to Kam Highway with my grandma and passing that little bar called Honey's, the original home of Don Ho.
I now live in Las Vegas. About eight years ago I went to a little town out in the middle of nowhere called Laughlin, Nev. I went into a restroom in one of the casinos and saw the doors marked Kane and Wahine.
I was like "What?" It was then I found out that Don Ho was performing and I thought, "Wow, Don Ho in the middle of nowhere."
I guess that goes to show that aloha is everywhere.
