Kamehameha tops Iolani

Analee Viena-Lota scored 17 points and Alexandres-Joan Akana added 10 to lead the No. 4 Kamehameha girls basketball team to a 53-50 upset off No. 3 Iolani last night.

Chanel Hirata poured in 15 for Iolani, which fell into a first-place tie with the Warriors in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu with two games left.

The Governors prevailed over the Mustangs when Elane Leaupepe squeaked through for the go-ahead layup with 12 seconds to play. Kalaheo had a chance to win with 3.5 seconds left -- but Aui Williams' shot at the buzzer caromed off the rim.
