No. 5 Kailua and No. 3 Aiea clinched Oahu Interscholastic Association division championships in baseball yesterday.
Kailua won the East title with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Roosevelt.
The host Surfriders took a 4-2 lead into the seventh inning, but the Rough Riders scored two runs on three hits, a walk and an error, all with two outs, to tie the game at 4.
But Kailua loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning and scored on a Roosevelt error to clinch the East's top seed in next week's playoffs.
Meanwhile, Aiea fireballer Randy Castillo was under the weather but managed to craft his second straight shutout as Na Alii won the West crown with a 6-0 victory over upstart Kapolei.
"We came out focused, no nonsense and played Aiea baseball -- pitching and defense," Na Alii coach Scott Kato said.
"Kapolei hit Randy pretty well. That team comes out swinging."
