Mid-Pacific, Iolani to meet in tournament

Matthew McDaniel limited struggling Saint Louis to five hits as the Owls defeated the Crusaders on the first day of the ILH tournament at Central Oahu Regional Park.

Mid-Pacific scored three runs in the fifth inning to break open a tie game. The Owls, who are seeded third, face second-seeded Iolani tomorrow at MPI's field. The teams split the regular-season series at one win apiece.

The Crusaders meet Pac-Five at Ala Wai Field tomorrow.

Kamehameha 14, Damien 4

Lane Nakamura hit a home run and Kapena Gomes contributed a pair of doubles as the Warriors blew out the Monrchs.

Chris Pascual held Damien scoreless for four innings, when Kamehameha had already run up a 6-0 lead.

The Warriors scored 13 of their runs in the final three innings.

Kamehameha plays No. 1 Punahou tomorrow, while Damien plays Thursday.

Kelsey Outram held the Wolfpack scoreless for four innnings while his offense generated seven runs to lead the top-seeded Raiders to a convincing win.

Pac-Five closed to within two runs, but Kela Marciel hit a double with the bases loaded in the sixth inning to end it.

Iolani visits Mid-Pacific tomorrow, while the Wolfpack play Saint Louis in an elimination game.
