» Rodney Choy Foo (Kailua) was 3-for-3 with two walks in Akron's 4-1 win over Reading on Friday night. The Aeros third baseman raised his average to .471, second in the Eastern League.
» Reid Santos (Castle, Saddleback), a setup man for Akron, pitched two scoreless innings in the Reading win. The left-hander has not given up an earned run in four appearances.
» Bronson Sardinha (Kamehameha) hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot in the fifth inning, to account for Scranton Wilkes-Barre's only runs in an 8-2 loss to Syracuse in the first game of a doubleheader Friday night.
» Kea Kometani (Punahou, Pepperdine) picked up his first victory of the season last Monday when Frisco (Texas) beat Springfield (Mo.) 7-4. The right-hander allowed six hits and one earned run in five innings.
» Steven Wright's (Hawaii) first decision as a pro was a loss Thursday night. The right-hander gave up eight hits, two walks and eight earned runs in 2 2/3 innings against the Hagerstown (Md.) Suns, who won 9-5.
» Darren Blakely (Hawaii) has signed with the North Shore (Lynn, Mass.) Spirit of the independent Can-Am League that starts play on May 24. This is the outfielder's 10th season in pro ball and second with an independent team.
» Chris Truby (Damien) was activated from the Indianapolis Indians' (International League) disabled list Thursday and assigned to the Altoona Curve in the Eastern League.
» Patrick McGuigan (Mid-Pacific, San Francisco), a right-hander, was assigned by the Toronto Blue Jays to the Dunedin Blue Jays in the Class A Florida State League from extended spring training Friday.
