Services set for former DPS chief Peyton
Services for former state Department of Public Safety director and former federal prosecutor John Francis Peyton Jr. will be held Friday at Holy Trinity Church.
There will also be visitation on Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. for the Friday Mass. Burial is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
Peyton, 62, died April 5 in a car accident in Africa. He was working in Malawi, a country in southeastern Africa, on a U.S. Treasury Department contract helping the Malawian government pass legislation to crack down on money laundering and other financial crimes.
Peyton was born in New York City. He is survived by wife Eileen; son John F. V; daughters Erin and Molly; brothers Andrew and Brian; sisters Eileen Matarazzo, Maura Canas and Neala Didrickson; and a grandchild.
