ConTempo art on display at Neiman’s
It's time once again for the year's best party, modern art show and museum fundraiser rolled into one -- at the lavishly decorated Neiman Marcus in Ala Moana Center.
The 13th annual ConTempo takes place April 21 and features work from Chicago sculptor Duncan Anderson as well as Kihende Wiley, who forms contemporary busts out of his Brooklyn studio. Kauai artists Melinda Morey and Sally French also will display their unique creations with the latest from Don Ed Hardy and Jun Kaneko.
Peruse the artwork for sale -- along with artists' biographies -- on the Web at www.tcmhi.org. The ContempoRarities exhibition runs through April 21 at Neiman Marcus.
Registration is required to purchase works through the Art Sale or live auction. Download forms from the Web site or pick them up at the Contemporary Museum in Makiki. Sales will be completed on the evening of ConTempo -- after libations have been served, of course. Call 526-1322.
Proceeds from each piece go to the artist and ConTempo's exhibition and education programs. ConTempo is sold out, but you can get on the waiting list for individual tickets by calling Kathy Christensen at 237-5227.
