Cast members Derek Calibre, left, David Starr and John Hunt were given roses, not cherries, at the opening-night party for "The Cherry Orchard" at Hawaii Pacific University on March 30. Starr has several good comic scenes playing Semyon Yepikhodov, a self-important but clumsy man, and was so funny on opening night that one of his exits earned a spontaneous round of applause.
