A paddleboarder carved down the face of a wave with his paddle in hand yesterday morning at Waimea Bay. A high-surf advisory was posted for all north- and west-facing shores early yesterday morning, with wave heights reaching 20 to 24 feet. The current northwest swell will slowly decline tonight and tomorrow. Surf along north-facing shores is expected to decrease to heights of 14 to 18 feet today.
