Master of the ‘Mix’ takes night life online
"It's not just a job -- it's a lifestyle."
That's a line I use when describing what I do to people both inside and outside the newsroom. Ever since I started covering the local entertainment scene with the launch of "In the Mix" in 2001, the only way to disconnect me from the streets is to physically remove me from the state of Hawaii.

One of the biggest challenges I face while writing my column is finding enough space to write about all the events that take place and the people who produce them. Now, thanks to the Internet, I'll be able to do a better job of keeping you updated with the latest from Clubland.
"So Necessary ..." -- which launches tomorrow at www.starbulletin.com -- is the Honolulu Star-Bulletin's answer for readers looking for expanded coverage on topics relevant to the late-night crowd. In addition, I'll keep tabs on pop culture both here and on the mainland, the latest music by local artists and whatever else I happen to be feeling at the moment.
As is the case with most things online, "So Necessary ..." will be a work in progress. Look for expanded photo event coverage and a podcast in the coming weeks. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome via e-mail at jason@starbulletin.com.
