Yogurt -- good for you inside and out.

Kitchen beauty

To prepare for summer, sun worshippers might want to stock their refrigerators with plain yogurt as an alternative to expensive creams.

The secret to yogurt's effectiveness is its combination of lactic acid, proteins and enzymes that increase the skin's water content, providing relief from sun-induced redness and burning.

Shop for success

You can do good for people and the planet simply by shopping when you go to the Laniakea YWCA lobby for a clothing sale to benefit Dress for Success Honolulu.

New and pre-owned women's business and casual attire is offered at prices from $5 for separates, $10 for dresses and $25 for suits.

All proceeds will go toward Dress for Success Honolulu's mission of providing free interview outfits to economically challenged women who are job-hunting.

The benefit sale runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 11 to 13. The sale will be held monthly on the following dates: May 9-11, June 13-15, July 11-13, Aug. 8-10, Sept. 12-14, Oct. 10-12, Nov. 14-16 and Dec. 12-14.
