Trycera Financial sells local call center
Trycera Financial Inc., a financial services company specializing in the delivery of prepaid card programs and products, has sold its Hawaii subsidiary, isleCORE Systems, Inc., to Hawaii Direct Telephone Co. of Honolulu.
"The timing and sale of isleCORE suits our overall business strategy centered on accelerating the rapid growth that we continue experiencing in our core stored value business," said Bryan Kenyon, CFO of Trycera Financial.
Trycera Financial, based in Irvine, Calif., acquired isleCORE in June 2005. The call center, with offices at Waterfront Plaza, has six employees.
Kenyon added: "We felt that the time was right to sell this non-core asset and further intensify our focus on accelerating rapid growth initiatives in the stored-value and prepaid card sectors."
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, although further details will be highlighted in Trycera's first-quarter 10-QSB filing in mid-May.
Among the clients isleCORE Systems serves are the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, Castle Resorts & Hotels, Hawaiian Host and Kaanapali Beach Resorts Association.
Hawaii Direct, a Texas-based telecommunications company, has been business here since 1997. In 2003, Hawaii Direct acquired the assets of then-bankrupt Summit Communica- tions Inc.
Hawaii Direct's headquarters are at the Airport Industrial Park. The company was not reachable for comment.
