Gwen Stefani of "Hollaback Girl" fame will perform in Honolulu in August
Dust off your harajuku outfits. Pop-culture and musical icon Gwen Stefani, promoting her recent album "The Sweet Escape," will perform in Honolulu on Aug. 24 at the Blaisdell Arena.
Admission is $47.50 and $67.50, and tickets go on sale Saturday at the Blaisdell box office and Ticketmaster outlets.
Performing with No Doubt, Stefani has played Hawaii a number of times, the last in 2002, but this is her first solo gig in the islands. The "Sweet Escape Tour" kicks off in April, hitting North America, Central America, Australia, Asia and Europe with hip-hop opening acts Akon and Lady Sovereign.
The California girl whose first job was scrubbing floors at a Fullerton Dairy Queen is also known for her unerring pop-music chops and flamboyant fashion sense. Stefani has also acted in a couple of films.
