Rose Society plans workshop
The Honolulu Rose Society is hosting a workshop on the "Fundamentals of Rose Gardening," 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 24 at Kapiolani Community College, Ohia Building, second floor. The class will cover all aspects of growing roses, including history, types, pest and disease control, and where to purchase roses and supplies. Cost is $40 with lunch included. Macy's offers wedding ideas
Before you say, "I do," take in the Macy's Wedding and Gift registry workshop from 1 to 2:30 p.m. March 24.
Couples will learn what they will need to furnish their home and also learn how to create a wedding registry using the store's scanner system.
Registered Macy's brides will receive a complimentary subscription to Brides or Modern Brides magazine.
The free event will be held in the store's china department on the fourth floor.

Ikebana exhibition
Welcome the onset of spring and take in "Splendors of Ikebana," a free exhibition of more than 40 floral arrangements March 27 to 30 at the Honolulu Hale Courtyard. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Special demonstrations include: March 28: Elaine Arita, of the Ohara School, 10 a.m.; March 30: Karen Bowman-Kirk, of the Sogetsu School, 10 a.m.
The event is presented by Ikebana International Honolulu Chapter 56 with suppport from the Mayor's Office of Culture and the Arts.
