Hawaii Ad Leaders awarded
The Hawaii Advertising Federation presented awards to its 2007 Ad Leaders of Hawaii on Wednesday.
Frank Haas, outgoing vice president of marketing for the Hawaii Tourism Authority, was presented the American Advertising Federation District 13 Silver Medal award.
Businessman and Star-Bulletin minority investor Duane Kurisu, owner of PacificBasin Communications LLC, was presented the Advertising Agency Association of Hawaii Media Person of the Year award.
The HAF woman and man of the year awards went to Debbie Tada, account supervisor at Milici Valenti Ng Pack Advertising and Jay Evans, president of Montaj 9 Ltd., respectively.
The Ad 2 Honolulu awards for outstanding young advertising woman and man of the year went to Natalie Cook, director of marketing services at Olomana Marketing and Brent Shiratori, now an account supervisor of Marketing Drive Worldwide in San Francisco.
The AAF District 13 George Pellegrin Minority Scholarship Award was given to Honolulu Community College student Angel Uyeshiro. HAF scholarship awards sponsored by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin/MidWeek and the Honolulu Advertiser were presented to Kyle Ikaika Pidot, Kamehameha Schools senior, and to Pepperdine University student Jenna Will- iams, respectively.
