Grants open to women’s, kids’ programs
The Hawaii Women's Legal Foundation is accepting grant applications for organizations that are seeking to improve the welfare of women and children in the state.
The foundation awards grants ranging from $500 to $5,000.
Some of the criteria for applicants include improving women's and children's access to the legal system; reducing child abuse; reducing domestic violence; reducing sexual abuse; increasing financial independence; and improving women's and children's health, education and welfare.
In past years the foundation has awarded grants to organizations including Read to Me, International; Child and Family Service Domestic Abuse Shelter; and Hawaii Children's Cancer Foundation.
The deadline to submit applications is Friday.
