Red Cross plans hats-off effort
The Hawaii Red Cross chapter is holding its annual Hats Off campaign tomorrow, which means off-duty firefighters, police officers and others will take their hats and try to fill them with donations. Find them from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Tamarind Park and the four corners of Bishop and King Streets. Activities in the park will include a Celebrity Jan Ken Po contest and food booths (Morton's will sell steak plates). Collections continue statewide Saturday. Call 739-8109.

Give clothes an Act II
Hawaii Opera Theatre is looking for donations of gently worn designer clothes and accessories from seasons past to be sold at its annual fund-raiser fashion show and sale, "Act II: A Fashion Reprise."
Yesterday's favorite cocktail dresses, gowns, men's suits and other brand-name garments can make someone else happy today.
Call Nikki at 596-7372 ext. 14 for details about how, when and where to drop off your tax-deductible donations.
