Wise tips on looking good

Chanel Wise

Miss Hawaii-USA leaves March 8 to prepare for the Miss USA Pageant March 23 in Los Angeles.

In her civilian life, she aspires to be a crime-scene investigator, and no, the "C.S.I." television series had nothing to do with it. She just enjoys solving puzzles and said she thinks it's pretty cool "to be a pageant girl but ready to kick someone's butt, too."

Here's a peek at the beauty regimen that won her the local title:

Must-haves for the spotlight: Blotting powder, lip gloss, mascara, Arbonne's RE 9 Anti-aging eye cream, fake eyelashes

Beauty secret weapon: Arbonne RE 9 Anti-aging skin-care line

Emergency response tool: Arbonne RE 9 clay masque, for zits and other issues

Hair management: "I get my hair done by Faye and Vern Gibo at Colorcuts. They do a great job with my haircuts, color and style. I also use every Paul Mitchell product there is. My favorite is the skinny serum that is perfect for those bad frizzy hair days."

Diet do's: Lots of water, chicken instead of pork or beef, brown rice instead of white, and lots of veggies

Diet don'ts: "I try to stay away from cheesecake ... my favorite dessert. I also stay away from greasy and oily foods."

Most likely to require touchup: Lipstick. "I always seem to somehow eat it off my lips!"

Regular workout regimen: Workout with a trainer three times a week and cardio exercises in between

Beauty philosophy: "Confidence is the key! Feeling beautiful about yourself inside will reflect in the eyes of other people."
