La Mer chef Garnier receives high honor from France
Congratulations to La Mer Chef de Cuisine
Yves Garnier for receiving a high honor from France. He has been awarded the Ordre Du Merite Agricole -- in English, the Order of Agricultural Merit. France's Consul General
Frederic Desagneaux, based in San Francisco, will be here for the award celebration at the Halekulani Thursday.

Maggi Parker and Whatumoana Paki are marking their 80th birthdays at an Outrigger Canoe Club dinner party Monday. Abigail Kawananakoa, a descendant of Hawaiian royalty, is throwing the party for the pair. Paki is the father of New Zealand Maori King Tuheitia. Maggi portrayed the secretary to Jack Lord's Steve McGarrett when "Hawaii Five-0" began in 1968. The king and members of his family will attend the party, as will Queen Mata'aho of Tonga. Maori songs and songs of Kawananakoa's family will be performed. Singers and hula dancers include Kimo Alama Keaulana and his group Leihulu, Dutchie Saffery, Carol Kapu and Bobby Reyes.
