'SPLENDID TABLE'
Hawaii is in the spotlight
Lynne Rosetto Kasper's national radio show, "The Splendid Table," will focus on Hawaii this weekend.
Kasper was in Honolulu last month to hold a seminar at the Halekulani and a workshop for culinary students. While in town she visited the fish auction, Nalo Farms, Chinatown, a North Shore taro farm and other foodie retreats for the show.
She was several thousand miles from her usual area of expertise, the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, but Kasper's always been a culinary explorer.
"The Splendid Table" will air from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday on KIPO-FM 89.3. It can also be heard on Oceanic Cable Channel 842 or on the Hawaii Public Radio Web site, www.hawaiipublicradio.org (click on "streaming audio").
Kasper's weekly column, also called "The Splendid Table," is printed in the Star-Bulletin on Sundays.
