Mera, Hoku on top
Mera Pharmaceuticals Inc. ended up on top of the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Stock Index this week, with a 10.89 percent gain that nonetheless left it at 0.7 cents a share.
The stock has spent most of its time below a penny a share since June 2006. Over the last 12 months it is down 55.20 percent.
Hoku Scientific Inc. came in second in the index this week, up 9.2 percent to close at $5.58 a share.
Over the last 12 months, Hoku is down 35.12 percent.
The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
