Party is the name of the game for the Pro Bowl
THE PARTIES keep coming in honor of this year's Pro Bowl. It's all about letting loose in Waikiki on Friday, starting with the Lotus Sound Bar and "The All White Event."
J2 Corporation and
All Access Entertainment have teamed up to bring FHM Magazine's Miss 2006
Diana Chiafair and
Crystal Hayson out to Honolulu as special guest hostesses, with Miami's
DJ Irie also on hand to keep the music bumping.
Down the street at Zanzabar, Hot Lava Entertainment presents the second annual "Pro Jam '07," a 21-and-over affair hosted by the New York Jets' Justin Miller. The W Honolulu and Artist Groove Network will also throw down with "Wonderlounge: The Pro Sexy Edition," with special guest host Stephen Jackson of the St. Louis Rams. You'll also get to party with Kainoa "O" McGee, the latest addition to the AGN family ...
THINGS WILL spread out a bit more on Saturday after the game, with events from Aloha Tower Marketplace all the way back into Waikiki.
Don Ho's Island Grill and Strong Stylez Entertainment present the "Pro Stars Bash" that night, with the Chicago Bears' Antonio Garay in the house with the ladies from Island Hunnies. Entertainment will be provided by the crew from Gritty Fifty Records.
Back at Lotus, DJ Irie will be joined by DJ Skee at the "Red Carpet VIP Pro Bowl Afterparty," with Gloria Velez and Warren Buffett's granddaughter, Nicole Buffett, also making appearances.
And at Pipeline Cafe, the world-famous DJ Clue will jump on the decks during an 18-and-over afterparty hosted by the Kansas City Chiefs' Larry Johnson ...
THIS WEEKEND also marks the return of Robbie Lawler to the Blaisdell Arena, where he'll start on a journey for Frank Trigg's championship belt during "ICON Sport: All In."
Lawler is scheduled to take on Trevor Garrett in the main event, with local fighters Scott Junk, Kolo Koka, Chico Cantiberos and Tyson Nam appearing on the undercard. I'm also excited to see Renato "Charuto" Verissimo's ICON Sport debut.
Tickets are still available for Friday's fights; start time is 7:30 p.m. ...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to NextDoor's Miguel Innis and DJ Ira. The pair will celebrate on Friday with a return performance by DJ Marques Wyatt ...
I'M HAPPY to report that the Hanohano Room has gotten a grip on "The Listening Room," a weekly acoustic showcase at the Waikiki restaurant.
An advertised half-off pupu menu was extremely disappointing when I stopped by at last month's debut, and I was also taken aback by the level of service. Luckily, the Hanohano Room's management was quick to correct things, and I had a much more pleasant experience when I returned last week.
If you go, the menu includes affordable choices such as ahi poke ($8) and endamame ($4) alongside garlic chicken drummettes ($6) and wedge-cut fries ($3). Even the Bud Light is affordable on Wednesday nights -- just $4 a bottle ...
WANT TO impress that special someone without breaking the bank this Valentine's Day?
Head over to the Halekulani's Lewers Lounge for a taste of a "Valentini," which makes its debut on Wednesday. The cocktail utilizes the new Pinky Vodka, imported from Sweden and mixed with botanical ingredients of violets, strawberries and rose petals to create a mildly flavored vodka with a pinkish hue.
While the liquor is currently available in Southern California, Wednesday marks the first time it will be available in Hawaii. You can also order it at the bars inside the Waikiki Parc Hotel ...
