DK Kodama is heading for the Super Bowl
If it's Super Bowl week, chef DK Kodama is headed in the direction of the game. For five years, Kodama has represented Hawaii at Taste of the NFL, also known as the Party with a Purpose.
The massive food and wine event is set for Saturday at Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Tickets go for $500 to $600, to benefit charities that feed the hungry, primarily America's Second Harvest chapters in NFL cities.
The food is prepared by chefs from around the country, representing each of the 32 NFL teams. Kodama -- who owns the Sansei chain of restaurants -- represents the Pro Bowl.
Since its founding in 1992, the event has raised more than $6 million.
