2 men indicted in alleged kidnapping and robbery
An Oahu grand jury has indicted two men on charges stemming from an alleged kidnapping, carjacking and robbery in Waialae this month.
Christopher G. Gallarde, 27, of Pearl City and Daniel Blaine Collins, 29, were indicted Wednesday on two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of kidnapping in a Jan. 16 incident.
According to court records, a woman told police she and a companion had driven to an Ala Koa Street home to pick up a male acquaintance, when a car with three men drove up looking for the same man.
Two of the men got into her Lexus and allegedly took turns pointing a handgun at her and her companion. They also took the woman's purse, passport, cell phones, a Sony PlayStation Portable and cash, police said.
They then told her to leave the car and drove off with her companion and the man from the Ala Koa Street home, according to police.
One of the kidnapping victims said his abductors allegedly forced him to smoke "ice" at Pearl City Industrial Park, according to court documents.
The woman's companion was released 2 1/2 hours later near Kahala Elementary School; the other was held five hours and released near University Avenue.
Gallarde was arrested Jan. 19 at his father's Pearl City home, where he was allegedly removing items from a stolen Honda.
