Really big home and remodeling show
Put on those walking shoes and plan to clock in some miles at "The Big Show," the Building Industry Association of Hawaii's annual show at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.
The building and remodeling showcase runs through Sunday, offering trends for the home, with experts on hand to tell you how it's done.
For instance, 1st look exteriors/Landscapes by Tropical Images offers a display of lighting and architectural elements in one-of-a-kind lauae leaf and other Hawaiian motifs.
Event hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission fee: $4 per day, $6 for three days, $1 Sunday for seniors. A coupon for $2 off is available at www.bia-hawaii.org, or call 847-4666, ext. 200.

Build New or Re-Do seminars Tuesday
Homeworks Construction presents Build New or Re-Do 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ala Moana Hotel Plumeria Room.
The seminar will cover all the basics of starting up and financing construction of a new home or remodeling project.
Featured speakers include Jim Byxbee of Homeworks, kitchen and bath designer Marshall Hickox and Fred Weihmiller of GMAC Mortgage. Other speakers will discuss interior and exterior lighting, air quality, and kitchen and bath appliances.
Guests are invited to bring along project plans for one-on-one review with experts after their presentations.

Feng shui outlook for Year of the Boar
Peter Lung of the World of Feng Shui will offer two classes on the Feng Shui Outlook for 2007, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. tomorrow.
Classes will be held at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific's Frear Cafeteria.
Fee is $45, with all proceeds benefiting REHAB.
