Movies opening Friday:
"Blood and Chocolate": A teenager on the run has the power of the loup garoux -- shapeshifters who can change from human to wolf. Living in Bucharest, Romania, she must choose between her love for a human outsider and betraying the vows of her family's secret society. Agnes Bruckner, Hugh Dancy and Olivier Martinez star. "Catch and Release": Jennifer Garner stars as a woman who must deal with the untimely death of her fiance, then learns he had a secret life he never shared with her. Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis and Kevin Smith co-star in the directorial debut of screenwriter Susannah Grant ("Erin Brockovich" and "In Her Shoes"). (PG-13)
"Epic Movie": A comedy in the spirit of "Scary Movie" and "Date Movie" spoofs recent big-budget blockbuster movies, particularly "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "Pirates of the Caribbean." Kal Penn, Adam Campbell and Jennifer Coolidge head the ensemble cast. (PG-13)
"Smokin' Aces": A rogues' gallery of characters collide with the FBI when a Vegas mob boss takes out a hefty contract on a magician's head. The large cast includes Ben Affleck, Jeremy Piven, Ryan Reynolds, Andy Garcia and Alicia Keys. (R)
