Hawaiian back at $6
Mera Pharmaceuticals Inc. came out on top of the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin stock index this week. But Mera's 40 percent gain still left it deep in sub-penny territory, closing the week at 0.7 cents a share.
Over the last 12 months, the stock is down 56.25 percent.
Of longer-term significance was Hawaiian Holdings Inc.'s performance this week. The Hawaiian Airlines holding company closed up 23.27 percent at $6.04. That was the stock's first close above $6 since April 25, 2005. Over the last 12 months, Hawaiian is up 56.07 percent.
The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
