Takenaka leads MPI to victory
Devon Takenaka scored a game-high 16 points as Mid-Pacific, which led at halftime by 19, managed to hold off Maryknoll, 49-35, with strong all-around play in the second-half.
Maryknoll managed just nine points at the break.
Sampson Won and Bryson Beirne chipped in 10 points apiece for Mid-Pacific, which is undefeated in Interscholastic League of Honolulu play. Won connected on a pair of 3-pointers.
Jordan Ho-Ching had a team-high 11 points for Maryknoll.

Nainoa Lessary scored 19 points to lead the Tigers over the Bulldogs, who were previously unbeaten in Oahu Interscholastic Association White play.
Lessary was the only player to score in double figures.
Waialua was held to just 10 points in the first half and was unable to mount a comeback. Brian Graziano led the team with eight points, including a 3-pointer.

James Buchanan had eight points and collected six steals for Aiea, which outscored Nanakuli 20-2 in the opening quarter.
Obie Woods had nine points and four steals, and Ryan Mora added 10 points for a well-rounded effort.
