A&B ekes a gain
Alexander & Baldwin Inc. was the sole gainer in a down week for the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin stock index. The index closed the holiday-shortened first week of 2007 with a 1.9 percent decline.
A&B managed a 0.2 percent increase for the week to close yesterday at $44.44. Over the last 12 months the stock is down 16.3 percent.
Behind A&B were Hawaiian Holdings Inc., parent company of Hawaiian Airlines, and Mera Pharmeceuticals Inc., both flat for the week.
The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
