Art project spans the nation
"The Secret Within" by Kristin Abraham is a commentary on a key secret of the state of Georgia -- the recipe for Coca Cola. It will be on display through Dec. 31 at Ramsay Museum, as part of "The Nomadic Project," an endeavor to represent each of the 50 states in a painting for the last 10 days of the year.
Abraham and musician Alfonso Llamas have been spending a week in each state, with Abraham creating painting and Llamas recording the experience in music and video. The painting is carried to another state for display, the aim being to blur the borders that separate us.
The painting representing Hawaii, "Mahalo," centering on an image of a breadfruit tree, is on display at the Wallflower Gallery in Miami. For a list of participating galleries and a record of the artistic and musical adventure, visit www.TheNomadicProject.com.
