Rau, Shaw take Aloha Section Championship
David Rau and John Shaw won the 2006 Aloha Section PGA Head Professional-Assistant Professional Championship at Hualalai Golf Course on the Big Island.
Rau and Shaw shot a 5-under 67 and a two-day total of 134 in the four-ball, stroke-play event. They took home $3,000.
Two teams -- Andrew Feldmann and Shane Abe, and Kevin Carll and Kellan Anderson -- finished one shot back at 135.
UH swimming signs 11 in early period
Hawaii swimming coach Victor Wales has signed 11 student-athletes for the 2007-08 season, the school announced yesterday.
The recruits are counted in the early signing period.
The Rainbow Wahine have signed Chico, Calif., swimmer Maura Barrett, three-time Ohio state champion Kyley Eisenman, Australian Olympic Trials qualifier Jessica Glew, relay All-American Nicole Larson, Washington state champ and Junior National qualifier Alyssa Manlow, Arizona state finalist Camille Newman, Canada Olympic trials qualifiers Amanda Meteague and Brianna de Palezieux, European Schools Games champion Ricarda Schellenberg and Wahington state finalist Jessica Stacy. The Rainbows' lone signee is Daniel Worden of Corvallis, Ore.
