Hawaii dog has kennel club date

Kiko (pictured) -- full name, Dier's Weapon of Mass Seduction -- will be among the contenders at this weekend's AKC/Eukanuba National Championship in Long Beach, Calif. Kiko and owner Debbie Takayama of Hilo will compete alongside other champion purebreds for prizes totaling $225,000. The competition will be televised at 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel.

Tickets on sale for Bonnie Raitt

Bonnie Raitt will return to Hawaii for two shows this winter. The Grammy-award winning singer stops off for a show Jan. 6 at the Waikiki Shell, and on Maui for a performance Jan. 7 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's A&B Amphitheatre. Keola Beamer focus of KHET/PBS show

Hawaiian slack key guitarist Keola Beamer is featured on a documentary, "Kiho'alu," which means "Loosen the Key." The show, produced by Maui producer and director Kenneth K. Martinez Burgmaier, airs 8 p.m. tonight on KHET/PBS and includes appearances by Willie Nelson, George Winston, Ozzie Kotani, Ledward Ka'apana and Willie K.
