Seasiders remain perfect
Freshman Lucas Alves scored a team-high 20 points and Wu Tai-hao added 15 points as the BYU-Hawaii men's basketball improved to 5-0 for the season with a 72-66 victory over Fort Lewis College yesterday in Hilo.
Tim Bieri scored 21 points to lead the Skyhawks, who pulled to within one with a minute left, but the Seasiders sank five free throws down the stretch to pull away for the victory.
» Ashley Kualii's game-high 23 points were not enough as Fort Lewis College downed UH-Hilo 87-62 yesterday at Nampa, Idaho.
Sheila Azevedo added 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Vulcans who fell to 0-2 for the year. Lauren Redfern led four Skyhawks in double figures with 19 points.
Star-Bulletin's Dave Reardon to speak at QB Club
Star-Bulletin football beat writer Dave Reardon and University of Hawaii football coaches Dan Morrison and Mel deLaura will speak at the weekly quarterback club luncheon at the Pagoda Hotel tomorrow.
The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. with the program starting at noon and is open to the general public.
