Four Seasons opens second resort on Lanai
Four Seasons Resort Lanai, the Lodge at Koele, has opened, marking the second Four Seasons resort to open on the island.
The resort, the companion property of Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay, has just completed the first phase of its $50 million enhancement and re-branding program.
All 102 guest rooms and suites have been completely renovated and feature decor inspired by the resort's natural surroundings. Averaging a spacious 605 square feet (including lanai), guest rooms have been upgraded to include 40-inch flat-screen LCD TVs, DVD/CD players, signature Four Seasons beds and linens, high-speed Internet access and lanais with dining tables and outdoor furniture.
In addition, each of the three dining venues at the Lodge features fresh interiors, complementing new menus. Capturing the upcountry essence of the Lodge, the Dining Room specializes in contemporary fine dining combining fresh local ingredients and classical European cooking techniques in such dishes as macadamia-crusted Lanai venison loin, butter-poached Keahole lobster and Maui lavender-honey roasted duck breast.
Construction begins next on a destination spa/salon, fitness center and wellness center, expected to open in mid-2008.

Starwood shuttles guests to Lahaina
Starwood Maui's three resorts have introduced an additional, new complimentary guest shuttle to transport guests to and from Lahaina throughout the day.
Guests of the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Sheraton Maui Resort and the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas will enjoy this new amenity, offered in addition to a current shuttle that transports guests among the three resorts on a continuous loop that runs 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
"Often, guests don't rent a car or simply want the ease of not driving into Lahaina, and we are pleased that we can offer them this amenity and enhance their stay with us and on Maui," said Craig Anderson, general manager of the Westin Maui.
The new shuttle will stop once an hour at each stop, beginning at Westin Kaanapali at 9:05 a.m., onto Sheraton Maui, the Westin Maui, Lahaina Cannery Mall, the Lahaina Wharf Center and Hilo Hattie's at Lahaina Town Center. The last shuttle pickup in Lahaina is 9:45 p.m. at Hilo Hattie's.
The complimentary shuttle is for registered Starwood Maui resort guests only, and riders will be asked to show their room key prior to boarding.
