Salon woos wee ones
If you're looking for a kid-friendly setting for junior's first haircut, Pigtails & Crewcuts has opened its doors at the new Moanalua Shopping Center, 930 Valkenburgh St.
The salon features a playroom with blocks, wooden train and other toys, and a Nintendo Game Cube for older children. Above every haircutting station is a TV screen featuring family-friendly movies. Custom-made pint-sized barber chairs are shaped like airplanes, cars and fire engines, complete with bells.
Two full-sized barber chairs accommodate grown-ups just along for the ride.

Retail Therapy returns
Great clothes, live music and freebies, too. Who can resist a little Retail Therapy? Bamboo Sky boutique is hosting its second event from 5 to 10 tonight.
Featured designers are Ginger 13, Indah Clothing, Scrapbook, Golden Child Jewelry, Cirque leather, Sola2 clothing, Lucy Love, Lily Lotus, Bamboo Sky and Haviannas.
There will also be spa treatments from Genesis 7 Spa, music by Tempo Valley and free Lush cosmetics.
The event takes place at the boutique, with the party crossing over into the adjoining Osake Lounge, at 1700 Kapiolani Blvd. Admission is free.
