Schofield soldier killed and 3 wounded in Iraq
All of the troops were members of the 25th Infantry's 3rd Brigade Combat Team
A Schofield Barracks soldier was killed and three were wounded Tuesday in Kirkuk, Iraq.
The military said that all of the soldiers were assigned to the 25th Infantry Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
The three wounded soldiers were transferred to a coalition forces medical treatment facility.
The name of the dead soldier will not be released until his family has been notified.
The military did not say how the soldier was killed. He was the seventh 3rd Brigade soldier to be killed in Iraq since the unit was sent there in late August.
Since the war began in March 2003, 39 soldiers, two sailors, 65 Marines, one Air Force personnel and one civilian with Hawaii ties have been killed in Iraq.
