Prize-winning pumpkins
Architects Hawaii celebrated Halloween last week with a pumpkin-carving contest for employees. Images of Kim Jong-Il and the South Park gang were carved into pumpkins, as well as fanciful characters such as "Chiquita Pumpkina" and "Jack-o-Phant." By public vote, the winner was "Nemo & Friends," by Christine Sanpei, top. Runners up were "Good Morning Glory" by Mariel Moriwake, second place, above left; "Chick-a-Boo" by Brian Takahashi, third place; and "Linda's Magic" by Joel Ganotisi, fourth place. Architects Hawaii hosts several community events every year, such as an Easter Eggstravaganza Egg Decorating Contest, Lei-tivity Lei Day Competition and Holiday Card Design Competition.
