Hawaii places eighth in WAC cross country
The University of Hawaii cross country team finished in eighth place yesterday morning in the Western Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships in Fresno, Calif.
Idaho's Rhea Richter took the top time of the 5K race in 17 minutes, 33 seconds, while UH's top finisher was Chantelle Laan in 18:16.2.
UH swimming, diving teams repeat vs. UCSB
The University of Hawaii men's swimming and diving team pulled off back-to-back wins against UC-Santa Barbara, 160-120, in a dual meet yesterday at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. The Warriors' dual meet record is now 2-0.

Carp puts Honu over BeachBoys in HWB
Mike Carp singled in Darrell Ford with one out in the bottom of the ninth to give the North Shore Honu a win over the Waikiki BeachBoys at Hans L'Orange Field last night in Hawaii Winter Baseball.
» Kanehisa Arima improved to 4-0 with a 0.59 ERA with five innings of shutout ball to lead the Honolulu Sharks over the West Oahu CaneFires at Les Murakami Stadium.
Reinebold, Kemper at Quarterback Club
University of Hawaii assistant football coach Jeff Reinebold, Friends of Kailua 5K and 10K race organizer Ed Kemper, and four members of UH basketball's "Fabulous Five" make up tomorrow's guest speaker list at the Honolulu Quarterback Club.
Festivities start at 11:30 a.m. at the Pagoda Hotel's main ballroom. The public is invited.

The Brigham Young-Hawaii men's soccer team lost to Notre Dame de Namur, 3-1, yesterday in their season finale in Laie.

Cianna Chn-Ming scored in the 74th minute off a pass from Kerianne Pascua to lead the Hawaii Pacific University women's soccer team over Chaminade yesterday.

Martin passes Martinez on HPU list
Barbara Martin passed Sheri Martinez on Hawaii Pacific's all-time kills list in a 34-32, 30-27, 30-27 sweep of Chaminade last night at McCabe Gym.
Martin had 19 kills to build her total to 1,307 with two more games left. Martinez had 1,300 kills from 1988-91.
