Bankoh on top
Bank of Hawaii Corp. came out on top of the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin stock index this week.
The bank holding company's stock closed at $51.96, a gain of 6.3 percent for the week. On Monday it posted strong earnings in what one analyst called a tough environment for banks. Year to date, Bankoh's stock is up only 0.8 percent.
Coming in second this week was ML Macadamia Orchards LP, up nearly 5 percent to close at $5.75. Last week the company announced an agreement to buy MacFarms of Hawaii LLC.
The Bloomberg / Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
