Paint it black if you can
Maybe it's Halloween, or maybe it's simply supply-and-demand economics at work, but scarcity has led to one of the biggest fashion hits of the fall, Chanel's Black Satin nail polish.
Initially released during the summer, bottles of the No. 219 nail polish sold out so quickly that Internet entrepreneurs started rounding up any bottle they could find for resale. Available at Chanel counters for a mere $18, recent eBay auctions are commanding prices of $36 to $100 for the nail polish.
Unless wannabe witches can conjure up some black magic, good luck finding a bottle before the 31st. A shipment of 36 bottles to Chanel's Waikiki boutique last Friday was sold out by the end of the day, with most put on hold by a single buyer. (How rude.)
Oh well, there's always Wet N' Wild Black Creme, 99 cents at Longs.
