TAKE NOTE
Interior design magazine debuts
Some 26,000 residents opened their mailboxes Wednesday and were treated to a promotional inaugural copy of Hawaii Interiors Magazine, a slick biannual publication showcasing the work and philosophies of architects and licensed interior designers statewide.
Interior designer and magazine editor Suzanne Watkins said its mission is to educate the community about their trade and diffuse its lofty image. "Most magazines dedicated to (this topic) give the impression that we're unapproachable" or that people can't afford to hire one when in fact, "we can end up saving them money."
The magazine costs $4 and is produced entirely by local trade pros. Look for it at Gentry Pacific Design Center locales by Oct. 27.
The next one rolls off the press in spring.
