North Shore stops Honolulu in HWB
Dustin Martin had two hits and drove in three runs as the North Shore Honu beat the Honolulu Sharks in Hawaii Winter Baseball last night at Hans L'Orange Field.
Jonathan Tucker added a pair of hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Honu. Scott Koerber earned the win for North Shore (7-5) by giving up one run in five innings. Satoshi Yamazaki pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save.
The Honu pounded Honolulu (6-7) starter Wardell Starling for five runs in 3 1/3 innings to hand the Pirates prospect the loss.

The Canefires (6-5) got home runs from Chris Rahl, Brian McFall and Yasushi Iihara in the win.
Duke Sardinha had a pair of hits, including a home run, for the BeachBoys (5-7).
Valiere advances in ISA World Surfing Games
Shane Valiere of Hawaii advanced to the third round of the ISA World Surfing Games at Huntington Beach, Calif., yesterday with a score of 14.5 out of 20. He edged Taumata Puhetini, of Tahiti, who had a score of 14.4, and will advance to face Brazilian Wiggoly Dantas, New Zealand's Zennor Wernham and Chilean Christian Merello in the next round today.
BYUH golf makes it 3 over HPU
The Brigham Young University-Hawaii men's golf team earned its third straight win over Hawaii Pacific University yesterday in a dual match on the Turtle Bay Fazio golf course.
The Seasiders shot a team total of 301 to beat the Sea Warriors by seven strokes. BYUH's Neal Manutai led the way with a five-under 67 to earn medalist honors.
