Sebelia wins ‘Runway’ competition
It was nail-biting time last Wednesday when Jeffrey Sebelia, the fashion pack's favorite to win "Project Runway," became the target of scandal, with fellow finalist Laura Bennett accusing the designer of having had help sewing his garments.
The next day, inquiring minds were calling to ask, "Is Jeffrey in or out?"
Relax. Last night, during the long-awaited competition finale airing a month after the show took place during New York Fashion Week, Sebelia and his scene-stealing dotted, striped and zippered creations were indeed in with the judges, who deemed him the winner of Season Three of the hit Bravo TV series.
The contest, which came down to a final four instead of final three as in past seasons, was anyone's to win. Bennett, Uli Herzner and Michael Knight also have a strong style sense and customer in mind. After only three seasons, the show seems to be well on its way to living it up to its aim of finding "the next great American fashion designer."
