Terri Nunn lived up to expectations and then some when Berlin played the Pipeline Cafe on Sept. 30. Nunn led the quartet through a powerful 75-minute show that included early Berlin hits as well as selections from the group's current album, "4play." Nunn closed with an excellent version of "Sex (I'm a ...)" and then returned for "Take My Breath Away" as the encore. CLICK FOR LARGE

Skeet Akita, third from left, and Kevin Chun celebrated their birthdays Sept. 30 with a party that started at Tsunami, then moved on. Kelsey Muromoto, left, Jamie Delos Santos and Christine Klein were among the many friends who helped celebrate. Akita, a registered nurse, and Chun, a licensed dispensing optician, were the "cover guys" on Kaiser Permanente's Partners in Health magazine last spring. CLICK FOR LARGE

Ocean Club manager Anthony Faulkner, left, and Jason Rod surveyed the crowd outside the club Sept. 30. Rumors that the long-running Piranha Room party was pau proved unfounded -- the club was as crowded as ever, and people were still in line outside "Oceans" at 1:30 a.m. CLICK FOR LARGE

Ariana Jennings enjoyed her sweet-16 birthday with an assist from "Lost" cast members Ari Green, left, and Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje at Haiku Plantation on Oct. 1. "Lost" fans who know Akinnouye-Agbaje as Mr. Eko might recognize Green as Jason, one of the mysterious "Others." CLICK FOR LARGE
