Sharks blow out CaneFires in HWB

The Honolulu Sharks scored six runs in the ninth inning to blow out the West Oahu CaneFires 8-2 last night at Hans L'Orange field in Waipahu.

Nyjer Morgan and Yoshiyuki Kamei paired hits for the Sharks, who improved to 2-3. West Oahu dropped to 2-3.

» Waikiki scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to overcome the North Shore Honu 4-1 last night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Dexter Fowler drove in three of the runs for the BeachBoys with a double off Robert Hinton.

Seasiders shut out by Argos

The Brigham Young-Hawaii women's soccer team surrendered its first goal in its last seven games and it hurt it in a 1-0 loss to Notre Dame de Namur at San Jose, Calif., last night.

» UH-Hilo outscored Chaminade in the second half to earn a 2-2 tie last night at Chaminade.

The Silverswords led 1-0 at the break, but the Vulcans answered with goals from Kelly White and Jessica Carvalho.

» Jonathan Baba scored his first two goals of the season to help UH-Hilo's men's team overcome Chaminade 3-1 last night in Hilo. Drew Geis also scored for the Vulcans (4-3-1). Chaminade fell to 0-8.

» Notre Dame de Namur scored in the 13th, 48th and 51st minutes to shut out the BYUH men's team 3-0 last night in San Jose, Calif.

» David Hague scored four goals and Grand Canyon blitzed Hawaii Pacific's men 7-1 last night in Phoenix, Ariz.

Grand Canyon stops Hawaii Pacific in volleyball

Barbara Martin had 16 kills but Hawaii Pacific fell to Grand Canyon 30-21, 26-30, 30-20, 30-28 last night at Phoenix, Ariz.

The defending PacWest champion fell to 3-13, 1-7 in the PacWest while Grand Canyon improved to 10-10 and 5-5.
