Bluthenthal earns PacWest honor
Chaminade's Evelyn Bluthenthal was named the PacWest Conference Volleyball Player of the Week yesterday after helping the Silverswords to three wins last week.
Bluthenthal hit. 260 and put down 41 kills in Chaminade's wins over UH-Hilo and Hawaii Pacific. Chaminade is 12-3 and 7-1 in the PacWest.
» No. 8 BYU-Hawaii rallied for a 30-32, 30-14, 30-24, 30-20 road win over Notre Dame de Namur yesterday. Michelle Peters led the Seasiders with 24 kills and 23 digs. Noelle Filimoeatu finished with 23 kills. Setter LeeAnn Mapu had a season-high 62 assists.
Seasiders earn shutout on road
Emily Mearns scored a pair of goals and Brigham Young-Hawaii beat Embry Riddle Aeronautical 3-0 at Prescott, Ariz., yesterday.
The Seasiders, who also got a goal from Jill Haar, improved to 6-1 while outshooting Embry Riddle 24-8. Jessica Clement had three saves for the Seasiders.
