About 560 Kaneohe Marines belonging to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, returned to Oahu last night from Iraq. Sgt. Nathan McCallum kissed his 6-month-old son, Kadin, as they met each other for the first time. Eleven members of the 3rd Battalion were killed during the unit's seven-month deployment. The 3rd Battalion was recently replaced in Iraq by its sister unit, the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, also based at Kaneohe.
