Hawaii's "STEP-tember: Start Living Healthy" event on Friday, part of a nationwide event that encourages 2,000 additional steps and 100 fewer calories a day, focused on improving the health of state government employees.

Community pride

Volunteers beautify Moiliili in preparation for Discover Moiliili Day

Community volunteers picked up trash, painted over graffiti and beautified their historic town yesterday at the third annual Moiliili Clean-Up Day. The cleanup was in preparation for the 11th annual Discover Moiliili Day to be held Saturday. Volunteers met at Kalo Place Mini Park in the morning and received gloves, tools and instructions.

The Windward Hawaiian Dog Fanciers Association presented the 97th All-Breed Dog Show yesterday at King Intermediate School. Cindy Okamura held Q.P., left, as her daughter, Alexis, held Spirit.
